Unofficial town list shows six nominations filed in Smooth Rock Falls election race as of Aug. 13; deadline Aug. 21 at 2 p.m.

An unofficial list published by the Town of Smooth Rock Falls shows six nomination papers filed for the 2026 municipal election as of 3:49 p.m. on Aug. 13. Nominations close on Thursday, Aug. 21, at 2 p.m.

The list includes candidates who have filed so far for mayor and council, and the town says it will update the list as additional nominations are received.

Two people were listed as having filed nomination papers for mayor: Patrick Roberts and Gratien Bernier.

Four people were listed as having filed nomination papers for councillor: Joe Couture (Jean-Marie), Leslie Gagnon, Tracy Gagnon and Jason Elliott.

The nomination period began May 1 and runs until nomination day on Aug. 21, according to the town’s notice.

After nominations close, the town clerk will certify nominations under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, the notice states.
