Water Main Valve Replacement to Cause Temporary Disruption in Timmins

The City of Timmins Environmental Services Department has announced a temporary disruption in water services due to a water main valve replacement. This will affect the Gold Centre Area in Schumacher on November 20, 2024. The specific streets impacted include Croatia Ave. from Ponderossa St. to Delost St., Claimpost Trail, Brundy Ave., Ennis St., Miners Ave., Delost Ave., and Prospector’s St. The disruption is scheduled to occur from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Residents and businesses in the affected area may experience issues such as no water, low pressure, or discoloured water. It is advised not to drink or wash laundry with discoloured water, as it can stain fabrics. If water discolouration occurs, residents are advised to run the cold water tap closest to the source for 15-20 minutes until the water clears.

Additionally, road closures in the area may extend beyond the scheduled repair time. The city has expressed appreciation for the community's patience and cooperation during this maintenance work.
