Weather report for Apr 22, 2025

Good morning, North!

Today across Northeast Ontario, expect a mix of sun and clouds with daytime highs reaching 7°C in Timmins, 6°C in Kapuskasing, and up to 8°C near Kirkland Lake. Light winds will keep things feeling a bit brisk but not uncomfortable. If you're out early, temperatures start close to the freezing mark, so there may be frost on the ground in less sheltered areas.

Clouds will build gradually through the afternoon with a chance of scattered showers toward the evening, especially north of Highway 11. Overnight lows dip back to -2°C to 0°C, so it'll be chilly again by morning.

Winds remain easy at 10-20 km/h from the northwest throughout the day, shifting more westerly overnight. Roads and walkways may get slick late if showers happen and temps drop, so drive safe if you're heading out after sunset.

Looking ahead to the rest of the week:

  • Wednesday brings more overcast skies, breezy conditions, and another cool start. Highs hover around 7°C to 9°C across the region.
  • Thursday is looking a touch milder with a bit more sun and less wind.
  • By Friday, temperatures continue to moderate, heading into the low teens for some areas.

Weekend Preview:

The North is poised for decent spring weather this weekend. Saturday should see a mix of sun and cloud with highs near 12°C. Sunday is shaping up even warmer—expect temperatures in the mid-teens and largely dry weather, ideal for outdoor plans.

No special precautions for UV or rain during the day today, but it’s a good idea to keep a light jacket handy and watch for those late-day showers.

Stay warm and enjoy your Tuesday!
