Weather report for May 05, 2025
Residents across Northeast Ontario can expect a mild and mainly cloudy start to the week.
For Timmins and the James Bay communities, Monday brings cloudy skies, with highs reaching about 15°C and a chance of spotty afternoon showers. Winds will be moderate from the south, making the air feel a bit fresher. Overnight, expect some clearing but temperatures cooling to around 6°C.
In Hearst, Kapuskasing, and Moosonee, you'll see similar conditions—mostly cloudy with occasional sun peeking through and temperatures just below 15°C. There is a slight chance of localized drizzle, so an umbrella might come in handy, especially for the early commuters.
For Kirkland Lake and New Liskeard, expect consistent cloud cover as well, but temperatures will be a touch cooler, starting the day near 8°C and rising to 14°C by afternoon. Winds will pick up a bit after lunch.
Looking ahead, folks across the Northeast should be ready for a gradual warm-up midweek, with daytime highs moving into the high teens, especially by Wednesday and Thursday. Rain is likely to return late in the week, so keep an umbrella close.
Weekend preview: Saturday and Sunday look partly cloudy with a mix of sun and cloud and comfortable daytime highs approaching 17°C. A few showers are possible on Saturday morning, but the rest of the weekend is shaping up to be pleasant for any outdoor plans.
No warnings are in effect for today. With increased UV as the clouds break this week, don’t forget the sunscreen if you’ll be outside. Safe travels and enjoy the mild May weather, North.
