CFIA Recalls Campbell’s Frozen Soup Due to Possible Wood Contamination
Campbell Company of Canada has recalled select Campbell’s Verve brand and Campbell’s brand frozen soup products due to the possible presence of pieces of wood. The recall was announced by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) on June 14, 2024.
According to the CFIA, the affected products may contain pieces of wood, and consumers are advised not to consume them. The following products are included in the recall:

Campbell’s Verve brand frozen soup (varieties and sizes as specified by the CFIA)

The recalled products have been distributed across Canada, including the Northeast. The CFIA states that the recall was initiated after a consumer complaint, and that an investigation is underway. Additional recalls may follow if further high-risk products are identified.
Consumers who have purchased these soups are advised by the CFIA to either dispose of them or return them to the store of purchase. The CFIA reports that no injuries or illnesses had been associated with the affected products at the time of the announcement.
