CFIA recalls various processed meat products sold online and in Quebec over possible Listeria contamination

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a food recall warning for various brands of processed meat products sold online and in Quebec because of possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The notice was last updated July 17, 2026.

The agency says pregnant women, older adults and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk of serious illness from Listeria. It also says food contaminated with Listeria may not look or smell spoiled but can still make someone sick.

The recall covers products sold under the brands Charcuterie Charlevoisienne, Clément Le Gourmand, Joe Smoked Meat and Alimentation Épicier(e). The recalling firm is Boucherie Charcuterie Lyn Tremblay Inc.

The affected items include sliced hams, pepperoni, bacon, pâtés, terrines and smoked meat. Some products were distributed at retail, while others were distributed “for hotels, restaurants, institutions and retail,” according to the CFIA’s product list.

The CFIA said the recall was triggered by test results. The agency said there have been no reported illnesses associated with consumption of the recalled products.

The CFIA said it is conducting a food safety investigation, and that additional products could be added to the recall. The agency also said it is checking that recalled products are being removed from the marketplace.

The CFIA says people should not consume, use, sell, serve or distribute recalled products. It says recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased.

Among the products listed are three sausage items sold at So-Cho Le Saucier locations in Quebec: “Saucisse Suisse cuite” (lot 00035, 400 g), “Saucisse Suisse cuite” (lots 00035, 00036 and 00037, 0.925 kg) and “Saucisse Octoberfest” (lot 00015, 0.925 kg).

The CFIA says symptoms of Listeria infection can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. The agency advises anyone who becomes sick after consuming a recalled product to contact a health-care provider.

The CFIA classified the warning as a Class 1 recall and assigned identification number RA-82354.
