HMCS Harry DeWolf Returns to Halifax After Mission
HMCS Harry DeWolf has recently docked at its home port in Halifax, Nova Scotia, after completing a mission in the Caribbean Sea. The Canadian Navy ship was deployed as part of Operation CARIBBE, focusing on international drug interdiction efforts. During the operation, the crew participated in the interception of 750 kilograms of cocaine on March 1st, in collaboration with the United States Coast Guard and regional forces from Colombia.
Operation CARIBBE is part of the wider mission led by the United States, known as Operation MARTILLO, aimed at limiting illegal narcotics traffic across international waters. The Canadian Armed Forces have been contributing to this effort through deployment of ships and aircraft, enabling them to partake in the seizures of substantial quantities of illegal substances. In the year 2024, Canadian ships were involved in confiscating about 2,710 kilograms of various drugs.
This marks the second time HMCS Harry DeWolf has participated in such operations since its commissioning in mid-2021.
