Ontario Allocates $92 Million for Research Projects
The Ontario government has announced the allocation of over $92 million for research projects across universities, colleges, research institutes, and hospitals in the province. This funding is part of the Ontario Research Fund, which aims to support various research initiatives.
The funding will be distributed among more than 200 projects, assisting institutions with the costs associated with research operations and facilities. This includes the construction, renovation, and equipping of research facilities with modern equipment and laboratories.

- Nearly $2 million for the Lawson Health Research Institute to develop advanced imaging software for early detection of brain degeneration.
- $152,000 for Queen's University to advance electric vehicle battery charging technology.
- $1 million for Mohawk College to enhance 3D printing systems for manufacturing.
- $2 million for Brock University to establish a Clean Plant Program for grape and wine production.
- Nearly $2 million for the University of Toronto to research hydrogen as a clean fuel for aircraft.
These investments are part of Ontario's broader strategy to enhance research capabilities and foster innovation across the province.
