Timmins Announces Snow Removal Operations for February Nights

The Timmins Public Works Department has detailed plans for nighttime snow removal during the week of February 9 to February 13, 2025. Operations are scheduled from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The areas targeted for the first night include Third, Spruce (from Sixth to Kirby), and Pine (from Sixth to 912 Pine) in the Business Improvement Area. February 10 operations will cover Cedar (from Fifth to Kirby) and associated roads within BIA regions. On February 11, efforts will move to Timmins North with a focus on Pine (from Sixth to Hendry), Ross, and Toke.

Daytime snow removal will take place from February 10 to February 14, between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM. Streets in Timmins South, like Cedar and Balsam, and areas in Porcupine such as Kenneth and Collins, are included in the schedule. Subsequent days will see work on other sections of Timmins and Porcupine.

It is noted that the schedule is subject to alteration depending on weather conditions or mechanical issues. Residents are reminded that it is illegal under City Bylaw 1993-4162 to deposit snow onto sidewalks and roads. Vehicles parked in prohibited areas will be subjected to tickets and towing. The winter parking ban, which remains in effect from 11:30 PM to 7:30 AM, continues until April 30.

Residents should adhere to all signage during the operations for their safety and the safety of the workers engaged in snow removal efforts.
