Timmins Requests Community Feedback on Shelter Locations

The City of Timmins is inviting local residents to provide feedback on proposed locations for a new initiative aimed at addressing homelessness. This initiative, known as H.O.P.E (Housing, Outreach, Protection, and Engagement), is in collaboration with the Cochrane District Services Board. It focuses on establishing modular units as temporary shelters.

The city has designated four potential municipal sites where these shelters could be located. The aim is to provide safe housing solutions for individuals experiencing homelessness.

Residents are encouraged to share their opinions through a survey, which will be available both online and in print from February 24 to March 14, 2025. This opportunity allows the community to engage in deciding which site may best serve its needs.

Additional information and access to the survey can be found on the City of Timmins' official website.
