CFIA recalls Tako Wasabi octopus products over undeclared fish allergen
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a food recall warning for two Tako Wasabi octopus products after the agency said the items contain fish that is not declared on the label. The products were distributed online and in British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec, and possibly other provinces and territories, according to the recall notice last updated June 5, 2026.
The undeclared fish is a concern for people with fish allergies or sensitivities, because eating the recalled products could cause a serious or life-threatening reaction.
People with fish allergies or sensitivities should not consume the recalled products, according to the CFIA. The agency also says the products should not be served, used, sold or distributed, and should be thrown out or returned to where they were purchased.
