Cochrane to Update Residential Recycling Program in 2025

Starting January 1, 2025, Cochrane will implement changes to its residential recycling program. The responsibility for managing recyclable materials will shift to producers, aligning with Ontario's broader recycling strategy. Key points for residents include:

Collection Schedule: There will be no changes to the current recycling pick-up dates.
Service Provider: GFL Environmental will take over the collection of recycling materials.
Recycling Bins: Residents should contact GFL Environmental for any issues related to Blue Bins.

Additionally, a recycling bin will be available at Cochrane’s Fournier Landfill to help divert waste from the landfill. Commercial recycling services will remain unchanged under the new model.
