Timmins police say drugs and $43,468 cash seized in June 2 warrant; three charged
Timmins police say they seized fentanyl, other drugs and $43,468 in cash after executing a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in the Borden Avenue area on June 2. Police say three Timmins residents were arrested and charged.
According to the Timmins Police Service, all three accused remained in custody and were scheduled to attend bail hearings on June 3. The agency also released a list of drugs and cash it says were seized during the search.
Timmins police said the warrant was executed at about 4 p.m. on June 2. Police Emergency Response Team members and a drone operator assisted with the execution of the warrant and entry into the residence, the service said.
Police identified one of the accused as Richard Anderson, 65, of Timmins. Police say Anderson is charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking — opioid (other than heroin), and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Police identified a second accused as Stephane Morin, 42, of Timmins. Police say Morin is charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking — opioid (other than heroin), and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Police identified the third accused as Peter Sutherland, 46, of Timmins. Police say Sutherland is charged with possession of a Schedule I substance — opioid (other than heroin).
Police say the following items were seized: 22.9 grams of fentanyl; 0.2 grams of cocaine; 20 methamphetamine ("Ice") tablets; 15 morphine tablets; 642 Percocet tablets; and Canadian currency totaling $43,468.
Police estimated the street value of the fentanyl at $4,580; the cocaine at $20; the methamphetamine tablets at $40; the morphine tablets at $150; and the Percocet tablets at $12,842.
The charges have not been proven in court.
