Timmins says Golden Manor long-term care rebuild is nearing 90% complete, with move-in anticipated this fall
Construction of Timmins’ new Golden Manor long-term care facility is nearing 90% completion, with resident move-in and final approvals from Ontario’s Ministry of Long-Term Care anticipated this fall, the City of Timmins said in a May 29 update.
The city said it has started transition planning and outreach for residents, families and caregivers ahead of the move, including steps related to room types, room assignments and the move-in process.
According to the city, letters are being distributed this week to residents and families outlining the move-in process, including anticipated timelines and room types.
As part of the update, the city also released resident room renderings and floor layouts for the new facility. The renderings and layouts include sample furnishings and living spaces.
The city said residents and families will have an opportunity to provide feedback on room preferences, including floor level, window direction, and preferred roommates or floormates, where possible.
The city also said additional updates on tours, move-in schedules and resident transition supports will be shared over the coming months.
In its May 29 update, the city did not provide a specific move-in date beyond saying move-in and final Ministry approvals are anticipated this fall.
